Healthy holiday specialist Satvada Retreats is hosting a four day ‘Art of Relaxation’ retreat near Framlingham in rural Suffolk from 29 November – 2 December 2013.

This is not a traditional, active yoga retreat weekend; the focus will very much be on relaxation, with the help of mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, healthy and delicious food and optional massages - all within a restorative retreat environment.

The retreat aims to help guests to relax, find some 'head-space' and learn de-stressing tools through mindfulness and yoga, that can be applied to everyday life back at home. Both mindfulness meditation and yoga are scientifically proven to calm the nervous system and help restore physical and psychological health.

Comments Lucia Cockcroft, Founder of Satvada Retreats: “As babies and children, we are all born with an innate ability to relax but somewhere along our way, we unlearn the skill and find ourselves stuck (often unconsciously) in unhelpful and dangerous patterns of chronic over-work and over-stimulation.

"This weekend retreat aims to help you re-discover your inherent ability to relax: both physically and mentally."

The weekend is aimed at anyone who feels the need for some much-needed 'me-time' to rest and rejuvenate, as well as learn simple body and mind techniques that will help boost wellbeing.

The accommodation, Potash Barns, is a collection of beautifully restored, listed barns, which in addition to having boutique-standard accommodation, also has a beautiful on-site yoga studio overlooking fields.

The absence of road noise and ambient light lends itself totally to the atmosphere of this relaxation weekend.

The three-night break costs from £365 pp (two sharing) which includes all tuition, full-board accommodation and return transfers from Diss train station.

Other treatments including massage and reflexology will be available to book at a supplement.
