International community develops at Park Central, Birmingham

1st October 2013 Print

Crest Nicholson has seen an influx of international investors at its Park Central development in Birmingham city centre, many of whom have been attracted by the impressive 6.6% rental yield on offer.

The increase in international interest – particularly amongst the Polish, Nigerian and Chinese communities – follows the recent news that foreign investment in Greater Birmingham has increased by 88 per cent in the last year. Birmingham is also regarded as one of the most ethnically diverse cities in Europe.

Now in its tenth year, Park Central remains a popular place for people to live, with many enquiring about rental options every month – particularly young professionals – thanks to its close proximity to Five Ways and New Street railway stations along with the universities, local hospitals and the nearby business quarter.

Susan Young, sales and marketing director at Crest Nicholson Regeneration said: “For many years Park Central has remained one of the top investment opportunities available in Birmingham city centre. The brand new apartments in Central Plaza present a fantastic opportunity, especially since investors can expect a rental yield of nearly 7%!

“The rental market continues to grow in Birmingham, particularly with people wishing to live in the city centre and, since opening the doors to our brand new apartments in Central Plaza, we’ve had a flurry of Chinese and Polish investors – many of whom already own and rent out an apartment at Park Central.”

Construction is now nearing completion on the first building at Central Plaza and it is estimated that the new residents will be able to move into the apartments in September, meaning investors could be making a return sooner than they think.

All the apartments have been built to a high standard, boasting contemporary designs with an open plan kitchen and living room leading out onto a spacious balcony or terrace overlooking the eight acres of landscaped parkland that is central to the development.

Park Central is located off Lee Bank Middleway and is just a five minute walk away from the many bars, restaurants and offices at Brindleyplace, The Mailbox and the nearest railway station. The city’s shops, theatres and business district are also just a short walk from the development.

Prices start from £122,500 for a one bedroom and £157,000 for a two bedroom apartment.
