Rent a mansion in Mallorca and celebrate Christmas and New Year Mallorcan style

L'Avenida

Escape to Mallorca this Christmas or New Year and spend precious time with family and friends at your very own luxurious Mallorcan mansion.

L'Avenida, a Modernist style townhouse in the heart of picturesque Soller on Mallorca's dramatic west coast, is offering exclusive self-catered weekly rental on the property over Christmas ( 21st - 28th December) and New Year  (28th December - 4th January) with accommodation for up to 24 people, across 12 double rooms and suites - making it ideal for a groups of friends or a large family gathering.

Each beautifully designed bedroom has a sumptuous bathroom, TV, DVD and wifi. Large picture windows frame views of the UNESCO Tramuntana Mountains and with a cosy bar and indoor dining room off the large well equipped hotel kitchen everything is on hand for this 'home from home' - including the Christmas tree! Book before 1st November 2013 and a delicious crate of complimentary Cava will also be there to help celebrate in style.

Venturing beyond the hotel Puerto de Soller is a five-minute tram ride away and the capital, Palma is just 25 minutes by car. Palma hosts a traditional Christmas market packed with stalls that are laden with winter-themed handicrafts, food and drinks; perfect for picking up last a minute present or for following the Mallorcan tradition of a large feast of Salmon and Lamb on Christmas Eve. Or on New Year's Eve join in as the island celebrates with firework displays and parties. Many of the villages have concerts and dances and be sure to buy grapes to follow the Mallorcan tradition of eating a grape for every chime of the clock when it strikes midnight on New Year's Eve.

L'Avenida is one of the finest examples of a 'Modernist' style building in Mallorca. It was originally built as a private mansion in 1903 by the famous Spanish architect Joan Rubio i Bellver, who worked with Antonio Gaudi as a pupil and colleague.  It opened as a hotel in 2007 following many months of meticulous restoration and quickly gained a reputation as one of the coolest places to stay in Mallorca. Many of Rubio's original features have been retained, including the original frescoes and plasterwork, along with magnificent marble floors and staircase that spirals up through the building.

Representing exceptional value whist providing luxurious and exclusive accommodation a 7 night self-catering stay costs €6,500 (£5,460) per week. This equates to €77 euros per person per night, based on 24 people sharing, excluding 10% service tax. There is the added option to have catering provided and a daily maid service at an additional cost.
