Following on from the successful Fairways development in Newton Abbot, award-winning housebuilder Redrow has acquired adjacent land for up to 180 houses in two separate deals.

Planning permission has been submitted to Teignbridge District Council for 34 properties, consisting of 24 three and four bedroom homes, plus 10 affordable houses, in a deal with Persimmon Homes. Redrow is hoping to start construction early in the New Year.

In a separate deal with Taylor Wimpey, Redrow has acquired part of the former Hele Park Golf Course and is in the process of applying for permission for 146 properties, including 109 three and four bedroom homes and 37 affordable houses. Construction is expected to commence in late 2014.

As well as the new homes available at The Fairways, the sites will include additional areas of open space for play and recreational use. Redrow is also making significant contributions to the local community, totalling in excess of £500,000 and covering education, indoor sport and outdoor recreation.

The mix of New Heritage Collection homes planned for this development is sure to attract couples and families to this corner of Devon. The homes, as with the current properties at The Fairways, will be an example of the quality workmanship synonymous with Redrow.

Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow (South West), said: “We are pleased to be able to expand The Fairways and give more househunters in Devon the chance to buy in this superb location. The Fairways offers the perfect blend of town and country living, with excellent links to Exeter making it perfect for professionals and families alike. Schemes such as Help to Buy mean that these quality properties are accessible for a wide range of the community.”

These follow-on development phases are bound to prove just as popular as the current properties at The Fairways, so homebuyers are encouraged to register their interest today to make sure they get the pick of the plots. To find out more, visit redrow.co.uk.
