Help to Buy a family home in Royston

Children could each have their own bedroom in a brand new home full of family friendly features thanks to an equity loan designed to make homeownership easier to afford.

Help to Buy is available on all new Redrow homes at Hedera Green in Royston, where it can reduce the initial cost of buying a property with the help of an equity loan for up to 20% of the price.

With the cost of raising a child now standing at an average of £160* a week, including housing and child care, any potential saving has got to be welcome news for parents.

Alexis Bissett, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “It’s well documented that buying a home and raising a family are two of life’s biggest expenditures. And as children grow older they’re likely to want a room of their own rather than have to share with their younger brother or sister. Help to Buy is a great way for parents to move to a home that can accommodate their growing brood. The equity loan should reduce the amount they have to borrow up front so their monthly mortgage repayments are likely to be lower than if they bought on the open market. And with the money they save they could treat the whole family.”

Hedera Green features a good choice of four-bedroom homes. Prices start from £357,950 for a detached Stratford style property. Factor in Help to Buy and it can be purchased for an initial outlay of £286,360. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years. The loan can be paid off when the family has more funds available or they come to resell.

Those who act now could even more into the Stratford in time for Christmas.

Designed with family living in mind, the Stratford features a spacious lounge to the front, an open plan kitchen and dining room with French doors that open out onto the rear garden, plus dedicated laundry area.

The kitchen enjoys integrated top brand name appliances, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage and come with soft close fittings to stop little fingers getting trapped.

To minimise the morning rush for the family bathroom there’s an en-suite to master bedroom and a ground floor cloakroom.

Situated on Baldock Road on the edge of Royston, the homes enjoy a quiet country setting, yet the amenities of the market town are within easy reach.

There’s a good choice of schools for all ages in the area, including some within walking distance, making Hedera Green an ideal choice for buyers with children.

The Heath is nearby, offering families the chance to enjoy the great outdoors close to home. Residents can also join the gym or one of the sports clubs based there, or simply relax and enjoy coffee and a cake at the café bar.

The development is within walking distance of the local railway station with services that can whisk passengers to London’s Kings Cross in less than 40 minutes.
