Showhomes and incentives to help buyers

Deanshanger buyers are seizing the opportunity to buy a new home for less and with showhomes now open even more people are discovering the benefits of buying brand new.

Half of those who have bought a new home at Becket Manor have done so with the aid of Help to Buy, the Government scheme which uses an equity loan to cut the initial cost of homeownership.

With two fully furnished showhomes now open Redrow has seen an increase in visitors to the development and an uplift in enquiries from potential purchasers.

Friendly, experienced sales consultants are guiding them through the buying process and explaining just how affordable a brand new home could be with Help to Buy.

“In the first few days alone approximately 50 people viewed the showhomes at Becket Manor. We’ve been encouraging people to look inside both the five-bedroom Passenham and the four-bedroom Kingsbrook so that they can appreciate the different layouts and the quality and finish we offer as standard. After viewing the Passenham, one buyer was so impressed that they reserved a property in the very same style there and then,” says Helen McGill, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands).

And Redrow has good news for those who’ve fallen in love with the showhomes but fear they can’t afford a new home of this calibre.

“Because they’re priced under £600,000 the homes at Becket Manor fall within the criteria for Help to Buy and can be bought with the aid of a 20% equity loan. Several customers have been pleasantly surprised when we’ve explained that Help to Buy is not just for first time buyers and could help make their money go further,” Helen adds.

The Government backed scheme allows purchasers to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the purchase price and can be used to reduce the initial cost of one of the four or five-bedroom detached homes at Becket Manor.

For example, a four-bedroom Welland with en-suite to master bedroom, ground floor cloakroom and a garage, usually priced at £283,950, can be purchased for £227,160 using Help to Buy. The remaining 20% is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell. By reducing the initial outlay, monthly mortgage repayments should be lower and a 4% deposit is normally all that’s required.

All of the homes at Becket Manor enjoy a high specification as standard, including kitchens that are well equipped with integrated top brand name appliances, plus stylish bathrooms and en-suites.

Close to the Grand Union Canal, the new homes enjoy a quiet setting in the Northamptonshire village of Deanshanger – less than eight miles north west of Milton Keynes and around 15 miles south of Northampton.

With schools for all ages nearby, Becket Manor is ideal for those with families.

The showhomes at Becket Manor are open daily. For more information see redrow.co.uk/becket.
