Escape to a new home thanks to Help to Buy
Prospective buyers looking to move to a new home are being invited to find out how they can secure their dream move using the Scottish Government supported Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme at a series of six events being held across the east of Scotland in the next few weeks.
The events will offer buyers an opportunity to find out how Help to Buy (Scotland) can help them to make their dream move to a new home, plus an IFA (independent financial advisor) will be available to offer free financial advice. The events will launch on 12 January 2014 at Gospatrick Grange in Dunbar from 12pm-4pm, and then run at the same times in the following locations:
The Strada in Edinburgh - 19 January, 2014
Heartlands – 18 and 19 January, 2014
Fordell Lea, Dunfermline – 26 January, 2014
Hopefield Grange, Bonnyrigg – 26 January, 2014
Ochil Gardens, Alloa – 2 February, 2014
The Help to Buy (Scotland) measures include an interest-free equity loan scheme which will be available on new build properties up to the value of £400,000, and the Scottish Government’s equity stake can be repaid at any time. There is no salary cap for purchasers using the equity loan scheme, and it is available to both first time buyers and existing home owners alike. Eligible purchasers will receive a Scottish Government interest-free loan of up to 20%, which means that they only need to put down a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage.
Karen Armstrong, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland comments: “Help to Buy (Scotland) is available at most of our developments across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife, and we’re confident our series of informal information events will allow prospective buyers to find out more about the scheme and how it could help them to move to a new home. We’ve already helped a number of buyers to secure their dream home using this scheme and we’re confident that our events will allow buyers to take advantage of our experience both in Help to Buy (Scotland) but the property market generally in order to make a stress-free move in 2014.
