Michelin Star Valentines at Tyddyn Llan
Michelin starred Restaurant with Rooms, Tyddyn Llan, located near Corwen in Snowdonia, has a two-night Valentine’s break that includes a special seven course tasting menu prepared by head chef and co-owner (with wife Susan) Bryan Webb.
The 13-bedroomed Georgian mansion is located just outside the village of Llandrillo (which has a lovely, welcoming village pub) and overlooks the pretty Berwyn Mountains.
The area is perfect for walkers and hikes can be enjoyed direct from the hotel’s front door – maps and route notes are provided free for guests (Tyddyn Llan is also dog friendly so the family pet can also join in the weekend away).
There is a wide range of options including a 2.5 hour walk to the mysterious, ancient stone circle.
On Friday 14th February, guests will arrive to a chilled half bottle of champagne and chocolates in the room to relax before sampling Bryan’s delicious home-made canapés in the snug bar before dinner.
At a time to suit guests, dinner will then follow; no fewer than seven courses of Bryan’s delicious food, much of which is created using locally sourced ingredients.
A complimentary glass of champagne will also be served with dinner and, for those who really appreciate their wine, there is an option of a paired glass with each course for an additional £35 per person.
Bryan will cook breakfast the following morning from an extensive menu which includes classics such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, smoked haddock with poached egg or a traditional ‘full Welsh’ (why not treat yourself to a glass of Bucks Fizz?).
The two night break (Friday 14 and Saturday 15 February) costs from £265 pp (two sharing).
This includes two nights’ B&B accommodation, half a bottle of champagne and chocolates on arrival in the room, pre-dinner canapés, the seven course tasting menu, dinner on second night and afternoon tea with Bara Brith and Welsh cakes.
