Househunters in East Sussex have been warned time is running out to snap up a new home in one of the area’s most popular villages.

Charles Church’s Wellington Gate development in Maresfield is nearing completion, with just three properties remaining – and no immediate plans to open a new site.

Jo Richards, head of sales and marketing for Charles Church South East, said: “Wellington Gate has been enormously popular with both local buyers and people moving into the area since we opened just over two years ago.

“We are always a little sad to be leaving a lovely village location like Maresfield, but on the other hand it is one of the most rewarding parts of our job, handing over the last set of keys and letting the neighbourhood establish and flourish.”

The prestige housebuilder has three homes available and, with the benefit of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, any of them could be snapped up with a deposit of less than £23,000.

Jo added: “Our final properties at this enormously popular location are ready and waiting to become somebody’s dream home. These stylish four bedroom houses offer flexible and practical family accommodation, from just £440,000.

“And now that the development is almost complete, the last people to move in will enjoy all the benefits of a newly created community. Wellington Gate is looking lovely as the gardens grow more established and start to show the individuality of each owner.”

The ‘Berwick’ style house is a traditional double-fronted family home with breakfast kitchen, living room, separate dining room and a useful study. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two with en suites and a family bathroom.

The unusual three storey ‘Ludlow’ has a spectacular tower feature, making it a distinctive and quirky home with plenty of space for a growing family or entertaining.

The ground floor houses the breakfast kitchen, separate dining room and a family room. The living room on the first floor forms part of the turret running the height of the house and there is also a study, bathroom and two bedrooms on this level. On the top floor are two en suite bedrooms with the master having a walk-in wardrobe area.

The Ludlow offers bags of character and style for £449,950.

Anyone using the Government’s Help To Buy scheme could secure their property with a five per cent deposit and a 75% mortgage, with the remainder covered by an equity loan which is interest free for five years.

Jo added: “For those with an existing house to sell, we can ensure a smooth and hassle-free move with our HomeChange or Part Exchange schemes, saving you time and money.
