Easter Bunnies in the New Forest

Stanwell House, a privately-owned-and-run boutique hotel in Lymington, on the southern tip of the New Forest, has created a special two-night Easter package for those looking for a special weekend away which combines forest walks with romantic evenings and fine dining.

The hotel has just 29, individually furnished rooms – including a few which are dog friendly (Bonios and dog throws greet every four legged friend on arrival) and have their own private access to the hotel’s rear garden.

The weekend will commence with hot cross buns and tea in the conservatory at the heart of the hotel on the day of arrival, and will include two nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast in either the Bistro or Seafood Restaurant (the hotel has two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence).

Seafood at Stanwells – as the name suggests – features a wide choice of original dishes created by talented head chef Ben Johnson, and utilises the wealth of fresh fish and shellfish sourced almost wholly from local fishermen.

The package includes dinner each evening from the table d’hote menu, with the option of choosing from the à la carte menu at a supplement.

The à la carte Bistro menu – which is contemporary European – is available at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the terrace, or al fresco under the sun or stars (weather permitting).

The hotel also has its own trendy, Twizy electric vehicle, which guests can hire to explore the forest silently without scaring the famous New Forest ponies (or Easter bunnies!).

The two-night Easter break can be enjoyed from Friday 18th – Sunday 20th or Saturday 19th – Monday 21 April (extra nights from £48 pp – B&B).

The package costs from £195 pp (two sharing) and room upgrades (some have four poster beds) and extra nights are available on request at a supplement.

Well behaved children and dogs welcome from £15 per night.
