The Official Tourist Board Guides, which are now in their 39th year, provide a trusted and comprehensive source of information for visitors looking to stay in the UK. The three Guides include ‘B&B and Hotels’, ‘Self-catering and Camping’ and ‘Touring & Holiday Parks’. In addition to the three websites, the Guides feature over 20,000 places to stay, all of which are independent and star-rated. They are packed with information from where to stay, how to get there and what to see on arrival. The Guides also contain the regional tourism contacts and tourist information centre’s for each regional section so visitors can contact them in advance and find out what’s going on in the area they plan to visit.

The guides are published by Hudson’s Media and under license from VisitEngland/VisitBritain. Most hotels and bed and breakfast establishments in Britain have a star rating from one of the four assessing bodies – VisitEngland, VisitScotland, Visit Wales or the AA. The bodies all assess to the same national standards so visitors can expect comparable services, facilities and quality standards at each star rating. The Quality Rose marque helps visitors choose with confidence knowing that the accommodation has been thoroughly checked out before they check in.

The Guides are priced at £8.99 except the Camping, Touring & Holiday Parks Guide which is priced at £7.99. Copies of the Guides can be ordered online from hudsons.co.uk/shop and bought from major retailers including WHSmith’s, Waterstones, Amazon as well as independent book shops.

Lisa Barreno, publisher stated “The Guides are an invaluable and essential source for visitors to find and book accommodation that suits their requirements. Visitors can book a hotel, B&B, self-catering, campsite or Holiday Park confident in the knowledge that wherever they stay it is quality assessed and therefore guaranteed to be of a certain standard”.
