Since the government introduced its Help to Buy scheme a year ago, finding the perfect place has become a reality for more and more people and as Bloor Homes highlights, house hunters across the UK have been able to use the scheme to buy their dream home sooner than they thought.

Adrian Bloor from Bloor Homes comments: “What we’re finding is that house hunters come to our developments looking for a new home, but with the support of the scheme they’re able to afford the aspirational home, often gaining an additional bedroom or extra family living space. So it really is a case of them finding their perfect place.”

National figures show, since the launch of the scheme last April, more than 20,000 people have benefitted from Help to Buy and with the scheme now extended until 2020, Bloor Homes has found enquiries about the scheme remain steady. In fact, since the scheme launched, Bloor Homes has sold more than 590 homes throughout the UK through Help to Buy.

Adrian Bloor adds: “The Help to Buy scheme has certainly had a positive impact on sales reservations, which is great news for the UK economy as new home construction underpins the local supply chain and local job creation.

“The important thing about Help to Buy is that, unlike past equity loan schemes, you do not have to be a first time buyer to qualify, although for those looking to get a foot on the property ladder, the scheme is proving a major helping hand. This has meant that aspirational living is achievable with many home buyers being able to afford their dream home in the right location for their lifestyle, potentially upsizing to a larger home that meets their current and future needs.”

The government funded Help to Buy scheme has been designed to make buying a property easier with a 20% loan from the government and just a 5% deposit needed. With Help to Buy subsidising half of all new home purchases in certain areas, it has made that move on or up the property ladder a realistic achievement for many potential home buyers.

Adrian continues: “I would urge anyone looking for a new home to come and talk to one of our sales advisors about Help to Buy as it could be the way to make owning your own property a reality.”
