A leading housebuilder says work is set to start on a new six acre housing development in the sought-after village of Ossett.

Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire says it is due to begin building at its new Meadowbrook Gardens, off Sowood Lane, in August and has already received high volumes of enquiries from potential buyers.

Simon Whalley, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “We plan to build 90 two, three, four and five bedroom properties. So there will certainly be something to suit all budgets and lifestyle needs for first time buyers and growing families.

“Ossett is an attractive market town in a popular location, which has been evident by the number of early enquiries we have already received.

“The development’s close proximity to the M1 and M62 makes it ideal for commuters while its semi-rural setting and extensive local facilities makes it an appealing place to live.

“As this is the first time we have built in Ossett we look forward to introducing customers to the Persimmon range and service.

“And our range of incentives including Help to Buy, Home Change and our Part Exchange scheme will provide customers with the financial help that will ensure buying a new home is an affordable pleasure.”
