Hot on the heels of the launch of new homes in Leegomery, Redrow is giving Shropshire buyers even more to choose from with its latest development in Shifnal.

Redrow has planning permission to build 115 new homes on a 4.4 hectare site off Aston Road in Shifnal.

The first properties at the development, known as Aston Fields, are set to be released for sale at the end of the month.

It will bring the number of active Redrow developments in this part of Shropshire to three.

Darren Turk, managing director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), says: “Increased consumer confidence and an imbalance between supply and demand are among the factors cited by various industry experts as reasons why prices have risen in recent months. We’re hoping to bridge the gap by providing more new homes for buyers to choose from.

“Our existing Trenchwood Gardens development in Telford has been a great success – homes there are selling so fast that we can’t build them quickly enough. The first homes at The Coppice in Leegomery are now on sale and we’re preparing to release properties at Aston Fields on to the market very soon.”

As part of the Aston Fields development, disused buildings at the Springhill Industrial Estate will be demolished to make way for new homes.

There will be 101 homes for private sale, offering a choice of two, three and four-bedroom designs. The development is expected to have a finished sales value of around £27 million.

Externally, the properties will look very traditional, taking inspiration from the architecture of the Arts & Crafts era. Inside, however, they will be bright and modern with a high specification as standard including well equipped kitchens and stylish bathroom suites.

Aston Fields will include 14 affordable homes for local needs. Redrow will also make a contribution of £85,000 towards affordable housing in the area; and the neighbourhood will benefit from an investment of more than £400,000 in travel and community infrastructure.

The new development is ideally situated on the edge of the town, less than 500 metres from the main shopping area of Bradford Street. The M54 is less than a mile away, making the homes a perfect commuter base.
