SsangYong signs up to HPI exchange

Koelliker UK, the new importer and distributor of South Korean SsangYong vehicles, is the latest manufacturer brand to sign up to a 2 year contract for HPI’s revolutionary vehicle stock locator programme – Exchange.

HPI Exchange is already successfully in place with other car manufacturers such as Suzuki, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lotus, allowing dealers the opportunity to instantly market their vehicles online. It automatically uploads car details to major sales sites such as Autotrader or eBay every time they conduct an HPI check.

The system will give SsangYong dealers complete flexibility to edit any aspect of a vehicle's information and upload up to six separate images to ensure each vehicle is marketed effectively. Dealers then decide where stock should be advertised by the click of a button. Extending the benefits of HPI to its customers, any vehicles checked by SsangYong dealers which hit the stolen or VCAR (Vehicle Condition Alert) registers, will not be loaded onto Exchange, giving potential consumers total peace of mind that any car listed will have excellent credentials.

It was the opportunity to exploit this lucrative sales channel that captured the imagination of SsangYong’s UK managing director, Paul Williams: "One of Exchange’s many advantages is its independence, meaning our dealer network has complete flexibility over where to market their stock. The software used is very intuitive and easy to use and the joy is in its simplicity. Whenever our dealers run an HPI check, it is now a seamless process to begin marketing that vehicle both effectively and efficiently.”

Daniel Burgess, director of automotive at HPI, said: "This is yet another significant contract that demonstrates the all round appeal of Exchange. Combined with our core service, Exchange lets manufacturers like SsangYong sell with confidence. Exchange has been designed after much consultation with the industry to be the ultimate online publishing service – tailor made to meet the needs of dealers and manufacturers. I believe this latest contract is significant evidence that we have succeeded in that aim."
