Ssangyong cuts parts prices and costs of ownership

11th June 2008 Print
Costs of owning a SsangYong Kyron, Rexton and Rodius have been slashed with parts prices cut by an average of 40 per cent. And at the same time, menu servicing has been introduced to ensure that costs of ownership remain competitive.

The move comes as part of a comprehensive review by Koelliker UK, the new SsangYong distributor.

The review has also greatly improved parts availability with dealers now holding a bigger parts stock to minimise time off the road for servicing.

Doug Lincoln, KUK’s aftersales boss explains: “This is about customer satisfaction and reducing the costs of ownership at a time when fuel prices are going the other way. We have reduced parts prices by an average of 40 per cent, with many service and body repair parts dropping by even more. Costs of SsangYong ownership are now much more competitive..

“Dealer orders and parts stock levels have improved and so have customer service levels and satisfaction. Service departments can now quote very competitive service prices and dealers have a positive story to tell about costs of ownership. For example, the cost of servicing a Rexton over 30,000 miles is now over £100 cheaper, making it less expensive than a Kia Sorento.”

A Kyron oil filter has dropped in price from over £30 to £12.68, while Rodius front brake pads are now £39.89 – down from £68.40. A Rexton alternator has been reduced by £100. Lower parts and body panel prices should also help to lower insurance premiums.

There are currently 13 variations of the SsangYong Kyron, Rexton and Rodius model line-ups in the UK with OTR prices ranging from £14,995 to £24,995.
