MB&G to provide SsangYong dealers with used car warranties

11th July 2008 Print
Mechanical Breakdown and General Insurance Services Ltd (MB&G), one of the UK’s largest independent warranty providers, has won a contract with SsangYong to provide used vehicle warranties for the entire range of vehicles sold in the UK through importer Koelliker UK Ltd.

The extended used car warranties, which will be sold through the 30-strong SsangYong dealer network, cover mechanical and electrical breakdowns and kick-in once the standard manufacturer three-year warranty has expired.

MB&G is offering warranties on Approved Used SsangYongs up to seven years/70,000 miles at inception and have teamed up with the AA to include a breakdown recovery service.

A further warranty is provided for SsangYongs over this age/mileage and non SsangYong vehicles that dealers receive as trade-ins and this will cover vehicles up to 10 years/100,000 miles. A lower claim limit applies to these vehicles.

“MB&G has established an excellent reputation in the warranty sector and this will enhance our business relationship with our dealers and their customers,” says Ian Nicholson, SsangYong operations and finance director for Koelliker UK.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been awarded this business, which recognises the quality and service we have built into this relationship,” says MB&Gs Operations Director Kevin Pearce.

MB&G is one of the few remaining truly independent solutions providers to the UK dealer market. It is privately owned and has been in operation for 30 years.

“We have had large dealer groups as customers for many years, but this is one of our first pieces of business that we have written directly with the importer,” said Pearce.

The latest business win comes on the back of MB&G’s recent appointment by Koelliker in Northern Ireland to provide extended used vehicle warranties on the SsangYong product range, including taxis.
