Research from price comparison firm Confused.com reveals that almost a third of families would be willing to relocate so that their child can benefit from a good education. Boasting a superb location in the centre of Chelmsford, Essex, Bellway’s brand new Marconi Evolution development is ideal for families looking to benefit from the choice of excellent schools in the area, with a selection of three & four bedroom houses currently on offer.

Chelmsford is home to several top schools, including two secondary schools in the top 12 of the BBC’s 2013 GCSE results table[2]. Marconi Evolution is walking distance from both King Edward VI Grammar and Chelmsford County High School, and several primary schools including The Cathedral Primary and St Cedd’s Schools.

Karen Coulson, sales director at Bellway Homes Essex comments: “Marconi Evolution offers families the chance to buy in a superb city centre location, giving their children the opportunity to attend one of a selection of great schools in the area. The new homes at ME are ideal for growing families, offering plenty of space and high spec interiors in tune with busy family lives.”

Marconi Evolution is a modern collection of homes located in the centre of Chelmsford. Currently available is a selection of one & two bedroom apartments and three & four bedroom houses. The site has been regenerated from Marconi’s former factory headquarters, and along with the water tower will be refurbished to include office spaces. Meanwhile the power house will be transformed into a fitness suite and concierge for residents.

Families can reap the educational benefits of Chelmsford by living in one of a number of houses available at the Marconi development. A perfect example of the family homes at Marconi Evolution is the three storey, four bedroom Salvan housetype, available from £444,995. The ground floor sees an open plan kitchen/dining area to the front of the house, and separate spacious living room with French doors that open onto the rear garden.

The first floor offers two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. A third bedroom would see an ideal study, the perfect space for homework. The top floor is served by the master bedroom suite, which benefits from en suite shower room and built in storage.

Chelmsford is a lively city, with plenty of things to do outside of school, including cinema, two theatres and over 100 eateries. For fitness enthusiasts, Chelmsford has four leisure centres, the largest being the Riverside Ice and Leisure, which offers three swimming pools, an ice rink, gym, studios and more. Chelmsford also holds 1,507 acres of public parks - nine of which have been awarded Green Flag status.

Ideal for commuters, Marconi Evolution is just a short walk from Chelmsford mainline train station and is only one stop from Shenfield for Crossrail connections. Average journey times into the capital are around 35 minutes, with up to six services an hour running to London Liverpool Street. By road, the A12 provides direct access into London and links to the M25 at Junction 28, while the A414 joins the M11. Both Southend and Stansted Airports are approximately half an hour away by car.

Prices at Marconi Evolution start from £189,995 for a one bedroom apartment, from £349,995 for a three bedroom- and from £444,995 for a four bedroom house.
