Christmas break at Gwesty’r Emlyn, Newcastle Emlyn, West Wales

Gwesty’r Emlyn, a modern hotel in a traditional country town, has a three-night Christmas package from £299 pp (two sharing). This includes mince pies and savoury bites with mulled wine on Christmas Eve, then evening dinner followed by midnight mass (optional!).

Christmas Day starts with a sensible continental breakfast before celebrations start with canapés and cocktails from noon, Christmas lunch, and Christmas cake in the afternoon. An evening Buffet with cold meats, fruit salad and mince pies is then served in the evening. Boxing Day includes breakfast and a dinner served in the restaurant.

Christmas Day will include full Welsh breakfast, mid-morning coffee and homemade mince pies, a champagne reception, five course Christmas Lunch, after lunch coffee and petit fours, afternoon tea and an evening buffet. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea on Boxing Day will be followed by a gourmet dinner with dancing. Guests depart after breakfast on 27th.

Christmas in style at The Grove, Narberth, Pembrokeshire, South Wales

The Grove, an imposing three-story, 20 bedroomed Georgian country house hotel close to the Pembrokeshire coastal path, is preparing to spoil guests with an extravagant three-night break costing from £685 pp (two sharing). It commences with mince pies and mulled wine in front of the log fire on arrival, followed by champagne and dinner on Christmas Eve, then Bucks Fizz breakfast, Champagne and lunch, tea and evening buffet on Christmas Day. After breakfast on Boxing Day, brave guests can join a group swim in the sea or just relax before afternoon tea and dinner (preceded by drinks in the lounge). Guests depart after breakfast on the morning of 27th.
