Vamoos proves a hit and launches on Android
The reaction to the all-encompassing holiday app ‘Vamoos’ launched through the trade in the summer has exceeded all expectations according to Tony Bean, Director of Appex Mobile and the man behind the clever invention.
Comments Tony: “We were very excited about the launch of Vamoos but with any product the test, the proof of the pudding is what the customer thinks.
“We have therefore been astonished that with just a few months since the product’s cold launch 40 companies have started a trial and more than 10 have signed up to subscribe.
“During the trial period over a 1000 people have used it to view itineraries and, in a sector that doesn’t have a great reputation for taking up new technology, this is a fabulous response.
“End-user response has been equally exciting with the average traveller accessing Vamoos between 5 and 10 times and for 4-5 minutes at each visit. This means than in total there have been more than 45000 ‘views’ in the weeks since the launch.”
Early data analytics show that the average session duration is 4.5 minutes, there are 6.7 requests per user for the app, (the number of times they open the app again), an average of 7 screens per session and 45,000 page views.
Comments Robin Ball, Director of Bamboo Travel – one of the first tour operators to subscribe to Vamoos: “We are always looking at ways in which we can enhance our clients’ ‘Bamboo’ experience and Vamoos is perfect for this.
“They see it as free added value and find it really useful to keep their entire travel documentation in one place on their phone or tablet. But it the fact that it can be used offline that we found most appealing, avoiding huge overseas roaming charges, and customer feedback has been great.”
The cost of Vamoos will average around £1 per passenger per year for the tour operators and travel agents that sign up.
