The Heritage Motor Centre has launched a series of driving packages aimed at those aged 11 - 17 who want to learn basic driving skills. Drivezone is a purpose built off road driver training facility featuring a track almost 1km long with a roundabout, junctions and other realistic road and driving features. Driving sessions take place in new dual-controlled Fiesta cars from the official supplier Ford, all under the supervision of expert and qualified instructors.

Training packages are available for children as young as 11 and a minimum of 1.5m tall. These are designed to improve skills and awareness in young drivers. Research has shown that young and newly qualified drivers are at a far higher risk of having an accident than other drivers and that road deaths are the biggest killer of young people. Statistics show that 1 in 5 new drivers has a crash within 6 months of passing their test and that young drivers are involved in 1 in 4 fatal or serious car accidents.

Penny Tyler, Marketing Officer for the Heritage Motor Centre stated “We are delighted to launch DriveZone which is a great way to learn basic skills in a safe driving environment, away from busy roads and traffic. The sessions will also make an ideal Christmas present for those looking for a present with a difference”.

DriveZone sessions are run on certain weekends with pre-booked sessions offered on a regular basis throughout the year. There are also sessions for qualified drivers including winter driving and car clinics.

More information about DriveZone and its sessions, including online booking and gift vouchers, can be found at heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/drivezone. The prices range from £65 - £130 per session.
