A Cumbrian holiday park is getting ready to welcome keen gardeners wishing to attend a garden festival known as the Chelsea of the North.

The Newby Bridge Country Caravan Park, is located just a short distance from Holker Hall and Gardens, which will stage its famous Garden Festival between May 29 and 31, 2015. This will have everything from floral stilt walkers and a Victorian helter-skelter, to displays from designers, nurseries and landscapers, sessions featuring top garden experts and scrumptious food and drink from the Festival restaurant and various food courts. Tickets cost £15.50 for an adult and £14 for concessions.

The Newby Bridge Country Caravan Park has seven luxury holiday homes for hire: Langdale Super; Winster; Ashness, Coniston, Wansfell, Kentmere and Wasdale. The first six can accommodate four people (with a cot available on request), in two bedrooms. The Wasdale is for two people and has one double room.

All seven are luxury caravans, true to the high quality standard set by the new park owners, Lake District Estates, which operates another four highly accredited and award-winning Lake District parks.

It is not only conveniently located for Holker, but also located close to the idyllic medieval village of Cartmel, famed for its sticky toffee pudding and 12th century Priory, as well as within walking distance of the bottom end of Windermere at Lakeside. Numerous attractions lie within a very short drivetime area, whether visitors wish to cruise on Coniston or Windermere, ride on a steam train from Ravenglass or Haverthwaite, or visit the Cumbrian coast and Morecambe Bay.

The holiday homes – all of which are set in 25 acres of land, part of which forms natural habitats for rabbits, red squirrels and deer – are available for hire for between March 1 and October 31. A week’s stay from May 30th costs between £280 and £470, depending on the holiday home hired.
