Two thirds of prospective homebuyers say a garden is the deciding factor when they choose whether or not to buy a property according to a recent survey by Rated People. Agents estimate that having the right kind of garden can add between 10 and 20 per cent to the value of a house, while the outdoor space around the property and its wider environment is also highly important to buyers. At The Lanes in Wickhurst Green in West Sussex, families can find spacious homes with attractive private gardens as well as shared green spaces including allotments, making it an ideal place for people who enjoy gardening and the outdoors.

People have varying tastes when it comes to gardening, but the gardens that are often the most appealing to homebuyers are those that are low maintenance, offer a safe space for children to play and have a sunny aspect for relaxing in. Each of the houses at The Lanes has a secure enclosed rear garden as well as a landscaped front garden. There is currently a selection of stylish four and five bedroom houses available, which offer ample room both inside and out.

Andrew Loveday, Sales Director for Countryside comments: “The British have long been a nation of garden lovers and this is evident in their priorities when it comes to buying a house. A nice garden and decent outside space often makes the difference as to whether the buyer wants to proceed. All of the properties at The Lanes have great gardens which are especially nice for enjoying at this time of year.”
