Iveco fleet rolls out for Dyson Insulations

Iveco fleet rolls out for Dyson Insulations Iveco dealer Northern Commercials is in the process of supplying Dyson Insulations Ltd with 35 Iveco Eurocargo 75E16Ss and 20 Daily 35C15s to join its fleet of 155 commercial vehicles – of which 75 per cent will be fleet additions.

The delivery is being spread across the company’s four operating centres in Alfreton, Brighouse, Gateshead and Manchester and will increase the total number of Iveco’s operated by Dyson Insulations to over 100 vehicles.

“Our history with Iveco dates back to the original Cargo of the mid 1980’s and their vehicles have continued to feature strongly in our fleet as the business has grown,” explains Ian Morrall, a Director of Dyson Insulations. “The current Iveco Daily and Eurocargo are excellent products and ideally suited to our operation, offering good reliability, performance, fuel economy and driver comfort.

“Aftersales support is also critical and through Northern Commercials we are incredibly well looked after. They are located right on our doorstep and are always prepared to go the extra mile to support us, from the initial specification of a new vehicle until it is sold up to seven years later,” he adds.

The new Dailys are each fitted with Luton bodywork manufactured by Aire Truck Bodies and will be used to support the company’s heating division, which carries out boiler and central heating installations across a territory spanning the Midlands up to the Scottish borders. Offering a body and payload allowance of over 1.5 tonnes, the Daily chassis cab is ideally suited to this operation and ensures a healthy payload of heating and plumbing equipment can be transported.

On the road five days a week, the Dailys are powered by Iveco’s 3.0 litre HPT (High Performance Turbo) engine which is durable, responsive and capable of delivering up to 146 hp. A generous 350 Nm of torque also allows the Daily to start off easily even with heavy loads and ensures the vehicle is perfectly at ease out of town or in heavy traffic.

Crews in the Daily benefit from a modern cab which offers a spacious interior and dash-mounted gearshift. The gearshift position allows easy movement across the cab, whilst new seats make Daily even more comfortable and provide greater support.

The Eurocargos feature Roco box bodies with a side-loading door and are used for the delivery of loft and cavity wall insulation material to homes, offices, new builds and building contractors. They represent just one of 3,000 possible configurations of Eurocargo available from over 300 basic models and are powered by a 3.92 litre engine producing up to 160 hp at 2,700 rev/min and 530 Nm of torque between 1,200 and 2,100 rev/min.

Finished in a striking orange and blue livery, the vehicles will remain on the fleet for between four and seven years, depending on their annual mileage. They are crewed by a team of up to two Dyson Insulation staff, depending on the size and complexity of each separate installation.
