Homebuyers in Devon can now benefit from big savings every month by purchasing a brand new Taylor Wimpey property under the Government’s Help to Buy scheme at Hele Park in Newton Abbot.

This sought-after development offers homebuyers a superb selection of high-quality houses, with mortgage repayments under Help to Buy that compare very favourably to those required for second-hand homes on the market in the surrounding area.

Using Help to Buy, eligible purchasers choosing the three-bedroom ‘Flatford’, priced at £216,000, for example, can expect monthly mortgage repayments of just £671– that’s nearly half the £1,140 cost of repayments for a similar sized second-hand property in the local area.

The Help to Buy scheme enables eligible customers to receive a Government loan for up to 20% of the price of their chosen property, meaning they require only a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a 5% deposit. The scheme is available with new-build properties priced up to £600,000 and there is no salary cap for those taking advantage of the scheme.

Clare Brimble, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Buyers would have to go a long way to beat the superb prices at Hele Park, where our brand new homes with Help to Buy offer fantastic value for money when compared to similar-sized second-hand properties in the local area.

“Added to that, buying new offers a whole range of advantages compared with second-hand, as purchasers could also save on costly repairs and maintenance bills that often come with second-hand homes – and benefit from reduced fuel bills!”

Indeed, new-build homes could cost up to 55% less to run than an improved Victorian home of a similar size, according to research by the Zero Carbon Hub and the NHBC (National House-Building Council) foundation.

The semi-detached ‘Flatford’ offers a living/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, plus a spacious kitchen/breakfast room and a guest cloakroom located off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to an en-suite master bedroom, plus two further well-appointed bedrooms and a family bathroom, while outside, the property benefits from driveway parking for two cars.

Alternative three-bedroom designs are on sale at Hele Park from £245,000, and four-bedroom properties from £255,000.

Hele Park is located on the western fringes of the attractive market town of Newton Abbot, which boasts a wealth of handsome Victorian buildings.

Families will appreciate that there is a choice of schools for children of all ages within easy reach including Canada Hill Primary School, which is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, as well as Bradley Barton Primary and Newton Abbot College, which are both rated ‘good’.

Newton Abbot Railway station provides direct services to Plymouth, Exeter and London Paddington, while the A38 is approximately three miles away for quick links to Plymouth, Exeter and the M5.
