The peaks of the Austrian Tyrol offer superb climbing away from the Chamonix crowds in the Mont Blanc range. If you want something different from your next Alpine adventure, take our Austrian Three Peak Challenge!

The Grossglockner - Austria's Triple Crown This exciting new active holiday from KE Adventure Travel offers the opportunity to climb the three highest peaks wholly within Austria, in a single week's holiday.

Joining in Munich we drive via Innsbruck to the picturesque 'mountaineers' village of Vent in the Otztal Valley. Making use of the available uplift we climb to the stunningly located Breslauer Hut (2844m), our base for the first of our Three Peak Challenge. From here we make the ascent of Austria's second highest peak, the Wildspitze.

Following the climb we have a day to recuperate as we drive through the spectacular mountain scenery of the Tyrol to the Hohe Tauern. This group of mountains contains the highest peaks in the Alps east of the Brenner Pass and on our arrival here we make use of the uplift and have a short walk to the Kursinger Hut (2558m) below the pyramid peak of the Grossvenediger (the Great Venetian), the second of our challenge peaks.

The climax of the holiday is an ascent of Austria's highest peak, the Grossglockner (3798m), which we climb from the Adlersruhe (3454), the highest hut in the Tyrol. After a celebration of our achievement and overnight in the quintessential Tyrolean village of Kals, we return to Munich to resume 'normal' life.
