Transporter provides door-to-door service for holiday-makers

The Bowen Travel Group has bought 17 Volkswagen Transporter Shuttles to add a new dimension to its coach holiday tour programme. The new Door-To-Door service gets holidaymakers to their point of departure with minimal stress, and without having to travel to and from the meeting point weighed down by luggage.

As part of the new service, one of Bowen Travel’s fleet of chauffeur-driven Volkswagen Transporter Shuttles will collect holidaymakers from their homes and drive them in comfort to the coach pick-up point. Then on their return, the holidaymakers are driven directly to their front doors.

The eight-seat long wheelbase Volkswagen Transporter Shuttles, which are powered by 1.9-litre TDI 104 PS diesel engines, were selected for the new service following an in-depth appraisal of all types of MPV vehicles. Rob Lyng, Managing Director of L F Bowen, the coach operating division of the Bowen Travel Group, explains the reasons behind their decision.

‘We were significantly impressed by the build quality of the Transporter Shuttle, along with the comfort and luggage space it offers,’ he said. ‘Additionally, throughout our negotiations we found Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ sales team very receptive to all our needs.’

Bowen Travel’s Transporter Shuttles offer customers a spacious passenger compartment with excellent access from two side sliding doors (both with childlocks). Passengers can sit back and enjoy a range of features designed to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable journey: comfortable seats with height adjustable head restraints; heat reflective glass; a rear heating system; and multiple air vents and sun blinds on rear passenger side windows. And for all those suitcases there is ample luggage space at the rear of the vehicle.
