According to the latest Government research, 131 new homeowners are using the flagship Help to Buy scheme every day, helping thousands secure their brand new home. With the UK average deposit now over £70,000, prospective buyers in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk now have a great chance to get a new home too, as developers Cleanslate announces Help to Buy on their collection of stunning new homes at its eagerly-awaited development The Maltings, in the charming market town of Newmarket.

Savvy buyers in the area are invited to the newly-opened marketing suite on Saturday 25th July, from 10am, for a chance to view the chic new two-bedroom show apartment and striking four-bedroom show townhouse and find out more about the Help to Buy Scheme on the remaining plots, which includes from luxury one bed apartments to gorgeous three bed duplexes. 50% of the properties released in phase one earlier this year have already been reserved, such is the demand for new, affordable property in the area.

Over 100,000 people have used Help to Buy since its launch, including four out of five first-time buyers, helping them secure a property with a much lower deposit. Understanding the need for good quality, stylish homes, without the Cambridge price tag, The Maltings range of apartments, townhouses and duplexes are now available with just a 5% deposit – that could be as little as £12,000.

Lara Newman, Director at Cleanslate, comments: “The Help to Buy initiative has been extremely popular, especially for first-time buyers, and as the only developer creating new homes in Newmarket, we are delighted to offer this financial life-line to those looking for their next home, especially those who want the style and luxury of Cambridge, but at a much more reasonable price.”

“As a family-friendly town, with plenty of amenities on the doorstep, and fantastic transport connections, we believe that the new homes here offer the perfect balance of character, panache, practicality and value for money. The fact that buyers can now get one of these fantastic houses with a 5% deposit, makes this an even more appealing option, and certainly one that demands attention from prospective buyers in the local area.

“We are anticipating a lot of interest during our Help to Buy event, and the added incentive of £1,000 towards legal fees for anyone who reserves on the day should certainly be a welcome bonus. As well as being able to have a look around the development, prospective buyers will also have the opportunity to speak to an independent financial advisor about their Help to Buy mortgage options, and a solicitor, to offer legal advice.”

This one-of-a-kind courtyard development, set on a prominent town centre site within the Newmarket Conservation Area, respects the design principles of space and symmetry, offering a courtyard setting within a backdrop of communal landscaped gardens and mature trees, creating a real sense of community, and an attractive green environment for the development’s four feature addresses. The Malt House is at the centre of The Maltings - a converted 19th century Victorian brewing house, which is being transformed to include 16 one, two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes.

Surrounding the beautifully-refurbished Malt House are three new buildings – all of which are named eponymously after former local master brewers – Dean Mews offers six contemporary four-storey townhouses; Bushel Court, comprises eight, two bedroom, two bathroom apartments; and Piper House, a selection of 14 two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes.

The contemporary architecture of the townhouses and apartment buildings is designed to emulate that of the 19th century Malt House, complimented by modern flourishes and stylish, yet functional interiors, including German designer kitchens, bespoke Italian joinery and the best of modern energy efficient technologies.

The historical root of the development, the Malt House apartments are nothing short of magnificent. On the upper floors, the former kiln chimneys have been remodelled into striking galleries, adorning these residences with a unique feature. Elsewhere, the traditional floor-to-ceiling arched windows have been beautifully recreated, ensuring the rooms within are awash with natural light.

Brimming with character, thanks to the careful refurbishment of the building’s surviving period features, these are homes to luxuriate in.

Six ultra-modern and striking four-storey four-bedroom townhouses, the residences at Dean Mews are something special. On the top floors, the penthouse-style master-suite bedrooms feature a private rooftop terrace - the perfect hideaway.

Designed along a contemporary palette, the Dean Mews townhouses are ideal for those seeking spacious and functional homes that are also big on style and function.

Designed to meet the demands of a modern lifestyle, Bushel Court offers eight contemporary-styled apartments for the ultimate low maintenance living. All feature two- double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Finished to a superb specification, these apartments are ideal for those looking to downsize or a home from home, perfect to lock up and leave without any worry

These are truly versatile homes, giving buyers the option to choose from open plan or traditional layouts and a range of finishes that ensure the best of modern-lux apartment living.

At the perfect centre of East Anglia, Newmarket lies on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border Famous for its huge horizons and landscapes preserved in the celebrated paintings of John Constable, the surrounding area is predominantly agricultural and often referred to as the breadbasket of England.

Under an hour’s drive from The Maltings the coastline remains a popular tourist draw, home to some of the UK’s most breath-taking beaches that are happily enjoyed thanks to East Anglia’s famous long and hot summers. Picturesque and historic market towns dot the landscape – the much- loved Bury St Edmunds being only 14 miles away from the development. These towns along with the traditional fishing villages, all relatively untouched by modern commercialism attract visitors from far and wide.

Prices at The Maltings start from £239,995 for a one bedroom apartment in The Malt House; £274,995 for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment in Bushel Court, and £294,995 for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment in Piper House. Prices have yet to be released for the townhouses at Dean Mews.
