Ford Ranger gets new Le Mans look

14th April 2008 Print
New Ford Ranger Wildtrak Ford of Britain has given their commercial vehicle family another derivative with sporty looks by offering a limited number of Ranger Wildtrak models in Performance Blue with "Le Mans" style white bonnet stripes.

Performance Blue has become an established colour with sporty connotations within Ford of Europe's passenger car portfolio – previously adorning the Focus RS – and it's currently available on the new Focus ST and Fiesta ST performance models.

"We sold 7,600 Ranger's last year. For the last few years, sales have steadily increased and Ranger now takes a 20% share of its market. We are always looking to cater for the pick-up driver who takes style seriously. Performance Blue has become a popular choice on Ford's passenger cars and it looks great combined with the GT-style stripes on the new Ranger." said Steve Kimber, director of commercial vehicles, Ford of Britain.

Ranger Wildtrak is a highly specified model with ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), air conditioning, heated front seats and an off-road information centre as standard equipment. The powerful 3.0-litre Duratorq TDCi 156PS engine launched last spring is standard on Ranger Wildtrak and it completes the package on this very capable, stylish, and dependable pick-up.
