As new homes take shape in Basildon, buyers are being given an exclusive opportunity to view properties under construction at Redrow’s popular St Nicholas Mews development.

Just six months after the Shaftesbury show home opened, dozens of properties have been sold with a number of them now occupied.

Now that building work has progressed, the award-winning homebuilder is holding a special ‘hard hat’ event to give potential purchasers a sneak peek inside the four-bedroom York house type while it’s still being built.

Buyers are being urged to make an appointment for January 28 so that Redrow can allocate a time to kit them out with hard hats and safety boots before giving them a tour of the property.

Kerry McCoubrey, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “Visitors to St Nicholas Mews love the four-bedroom Shaftesbury show home and say it gives them a real insight to the quality and finish we offer in our Heritage Collection designs. We’ve also had requests from people keen to look around other house types, particularly townhouses like the York so that they can appreciate the flexibility offered by homes that are set out over three floors.

“To satisfy their curiosity we’re holding a ‘hard hat’ tour of the York so that they can do just that. We’ll supply hard hats and safety boots so they can look around the property while it’s still under construction.”

The York offers 1,339 sq ft of living space over three floors.

To the ground floor, there’s a spacious lounge to the front, with combined kitchen and dining room to the rear, plus laundry area and cloakroom.

On the first floor, there are three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The crowning glory of the property is the top floor master bedroom, complete with en-suite, providing parents with a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of family life.

The York is available from £424,995.

Selected properties at St Nicholas Mews are eligible for Help to Buy, meaning they can be secured with only a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The remainder of the price is covered by a 20% equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

For example, using the equity loan scheme, the initial price of the York is reduced to £339,996 including a customer deposit of £21,250 and a mortgage for £318,746.

The new homes are being built in an area well-served by schools, while the nearby Festival Leisure Park offers fun for all the family.

The town centre is within walking distance, along with the superb Basildon sporting village and the tranquil Gloucester Park. The area also benefits from strong transport links with trains from Basildon or Laindon stations whisking passengers to London Fenchurch Street in around 35 minutes.

To make an appointment for a hard hat tour of the York house type at St Nicholas Mews, visit redrow.co.uk/stnicholas.

There’s also the chance to view a professionally styled and fully furnished Shaftesbury show home, open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
