A new neighbourhood of homes has recently launched at Beaulieu, Countryside and L&Q’s incredibly popular development in Chelmsford, Essex. Beaulieu Keep combines the charm and character of a traditional Essex village with cutting edge design and architecture. Comprising a diverse range of 199 homes, ranging from three to five-bedroom family houses, Beaulieu Keep has been designed to appeal to buyers across the spectrum.

The homes at Beaulieu Keep will naturally be divided by carefully preserved bridleways and hedgerows into a number of distinct areas. Each of these smaller communities has its own sense of place and three individual character areas offer thoughtful layouts and a wide variety of house designs.

Set around enclosed courtyard areas for a sense of privacy and protected space, the Farmstead Courtyards draw inspiration from the local vernacular and original Essex farmsteads. Benefitting from attractive views across open parkland, the Parkside Villas are iconic and are positioned amongst beautiful garden areas that overlook ‘The Chase’ park. Meanwhile, laid out as a traditional Essex village with an emphasis on green spaces, the homes at the Village Lanes are connected together organically revealing views towards focal points, such as an historic oak tree in the park. All of the new homes integrate seamlessly with their surroundings and offer an inclusive attractive community setting.

Chris Bladon, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Region said: “Beaulieu Keep is a really exciting new development; the mix of striking modern architecture and characteristics from traditional Essex farmsteads ensures all of the homes sit comfortably within their beautiful parkland location. Internally the homes are ideally designed for contemporary living and the proximity to amenities and transport connections, as well as peaceful green open spaces, creates the perfect balance for those who will live here. The show homes at Beaulieu Keep are due to open later this year however a selection of show homes are open within other phases of the wider Beaulieu development.”

Creating a grand entrance to Beaulieu Keep, an impressive sculptural piece is due to be unveiled later in the year, representing a regal reflection of a stag under a tree, fabricated from zinc-coated steel and set on a crown base. The intricate spherical sculpture and the deer sculptures located around the pond have been designed to reflect the heritage of the site, a former deer park owned by King Henry VIII, as part of his Tudor Palace and estate parkland. The sculptures form part of a complete programme of public art commissioned by Countryside and L&Q, and are central to the masterplan for Beaulieu.

The homes at Beaulieu Keep are within close proximity of the new Beaulieu Square Neighbourhood Centre, located just off White Hart Lane, which has been designed to serve as the community hub for the whole development. Beaulieu residents will be able to enjoy a host of new amenities right on their doorstep, including a Sainsbury’s Local Supermarket, café, Bright Horizons Day Nursery, Kip McGrath Education Centre and a Community Centre, as well as a selection of other retailers and eateries.

Beaulieu is a vibrant new district for Chelmsford offering inspirational architecture and landscape. It is already developing its own unique identity inspired by its rich heritage, offering premium housing and exemplary community infrastructure to create a place that will stand the test of time. Set around the majestic New Hall School, formerly King Henry VIII’s Tudor palace known as Beaulieu, and its estate parkland, the development is conceived as a series of neighbourhoods that will connect to the wider landscape and countryside. Setting the scene for what is to come, Beaulieu Heath and Beaulieu Chase have already welcomed over 150 residents and Beaulieu Square’s retail units are due to be occupied by the end of the year.

Chelmsford’s historic centre offers excellent shopping and a vibrant nightlife. Its shopping centres and bustling high street offer all the big-name brands, along with a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and wine bars, while the city is also renowned for its excellent schools, including its two top performing grammar schools. Residents at Beaulieu now benefit from a new Express bus service meaning residents can travel between the centre of Chelmsford and home in less than 20 minutes. From Chelmsford station there are direct services to London Liverpool Street in as little as 35 minutes, and what’s more, Beaulieu is set to benefit from its own proposed train station.

Prices at Beaulieu Keep start from £499,995 for a three bedroom house and £559,995 for a four bedroom house. Help to Buy is available on selected properties. For more information, visit beaulieu.uk.com.
