A leading housebuilder has advised local people looking for a property in Carlisle not to miss out on affordable homes at hugely discounted prices.

Persimmon Homes Lancashire has teamed up with Carlisle City Council to provide practical apartments at 70 per cent of their market value, and has just three of the homes left.

The initiative gives qualifying local people a golden opportunity to take a step onto the property ladder.

The Speckled Wood development in Cumwhinton Road has two bedroom apartments available from just £74,995 – one each on the ground, first and second floors of the nine apartment block.

Allison Scott, sales manager for Persimmon Homes, said: “Speckled Wood is a lovely development, just minutes from the city centre but also enjoying stunning views over open countryside.

“The affordable homes scheme in conjunction with Carlisle City Council gives buyers 30 per cent off the usual market price of these selected plots.

“That means that a two-bedroom apartment property is available today for £74,995 rather than the usual price of more than £107,000. These are fantastic deals for local people.”

The apartments include integrated appliances and are carpeted throughout, making them ready for immediate occupation.

Allison added; “For a limited time we are also able to offer a furniture package, to help anyone starting out or starting over to set up their new home.

“As there are only three apartments left available under the discount to market scheme we would advise prospective buyers to call in to the Speckled Wood marketing suite to talk to one of our sale advisors as quickly as possible.”

Speckled Wood is located on the edge of Carlisle, close to junction 42 of the M6 motorway and Carlisle train station. A range of excellent schools are nearby, along with leisure facilities and shops.

Discounted homes at Speckled Wood are available subject to criteria set out by Carlisle City Council. For more information or for an application form, visit
