A leading housebuilder says work is now under way on a new housing development in Speedwell.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley was given the green light by Bristol Council to begin construction on the site between Brook Road and Deep Pit Road, with 136 homes scheduled to be built.

The Whitewood Park development, as it will become known, will deliver a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes.

“The location is key,” said Carly Spear, head of sales at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley.

“Just three miles from Bristol city centre and just over five miles to the M4 makes Whitewood Park the ideal location for commuters. And, by using the Bristol and Bath Railway path, cyclists can be in the city centre in 20minutes.

“The development features a woodland embankment through the centre and its mix of property styles will appeal to a range of buyers including first time buyers and growing families.”

Buyers looking to move into their dream home will be able to access the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, or Persimmon’s Part Exchange and Home Change packages.

“We are working to get our sales team on site from June and we are working towards handing over the keys to our first customers in the Autumn,” added Carly.

“We are encouraging customers to register their interest so we can keep them up-to-date with the site’s developments.”
