New homes coming soon to Chorlton
A former hospital car park in South Manchester is being given a new lease of life by Elan Homes.
The Cheshire-based homebuilder will start preparing the 0.79 acre site at the rear of Darley Avenue, between Chorlton and Didsbury, for new homes later this month.
The suburban development, known as Derwent Court, will comprise 13 homes. There will be five pairs of semi-detached homes and three terraced properties, all with four bedrooms and set out over three floors.
The first properties are due to be released in the first quarter of the year and prospective purchasers are invited to register their interest to be kept informed of Elan’s progress.

The homes will range in size from 1,498 sq ft to 1,768 sq ft. Prices for the properties will be announced at the launch.
“Townhouses, like those at Derwent Court, maximise the potential of the land available. By building upwards rather than outwards, the homes will have a smaller footprint than two-storey homes with the same living space and as a result are likely to be more competitively priced,” Marie explained.
The majority of homes will benefit from an integral single garage, with all properties having rear gardens and designated parking spaces.
Between them, Chorlton and Didsbury offer a selection of independent boutiques and shops, restaurants, cafes and bars; while Manchester city centre is just a few miles away. The green open spaces of Chorlton Water Park and Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens are also within easy reach.
