Homebuying event set to help Berkshire buyers
With recent figures showing that first-time buyers now make up half of all approved mortgages in the UK, it is evident that ‘Generation Rent’ is fast becoming ‘Generation Buy’. Berkshire remains a popular location for aspiring homeowners looking to get on the property ladder, offering the right balance between bustling towns and rolling countryside. Local housebuilder Berkeley Homes is offering help to buyers looking to get a foot on or up the housing ladder in Berkshire, hosting a specialist Help to Buy event at its Woodhurst Park development in the county.
Completely free to attend, the event will be held from 10am - 5pm on Saturday 23rd February at Woodhurst Park in Warfield. Homebuyers will be able to speak to independent Mortgage Advisors to receive free impartial advice, including information on purchasing schemes such as the Government-backed Help to Buy Scheme.
Visitors will also be welcome to view the showhome, which has been designed to provide potential buyers with a visual aid of what living within each thriving community could be like. The Help to Buy event at Woodhurst Park has been timed to coincide with the launch of a brand new three-bedroom showhome, complete with luxury specification throughout.
Benjamin Ivey, Director of Sales and Marketing at Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern), comments: “We understand that homebuying can be a stressful experience, no matter what stage you are at on the property ladder. That’s why at Berkeley we believe that homebuying events, such as our upcoming Help to Buy event, are crucial in providing buyers with the opportunity to ask questions and educate themselves on all aspects of purchasing. With a particular focus on homebuying schemes such as Help to Buy, we want to ensure that aspirational buyers in Berkshire are making the most of the support that is available to them.”
Fiona Fullilove has benefitted from using Help to Buy at Woodhurst Park and says “Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to secure our ideal home now. When we discovered the properties at Woodhurst Park, we were drawn to the vast greenery and open space. What’s more, everything with Berkeley Homes is included in the cost, so we knew that we didn’t need to raise extra funds for additional fixtures and fittings. As first time buyers this was particularly important to us.”
Designed to create the feeling of a quintessential English village, Woodhurst Park is a development of 750 homes, where core elements of the English idyll have been recreated, including a country park, traditional village green, duck pond, children’s play areas, orchard park, tree-lined riverside cut and nature trails. Current availability consists of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, and three-, four-, and five-bedroom houses. Prices start from £270,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. Help to Buy is available on all properties priced under £600,000, with five per cent deposits starting from £13,500.
