Renault launches first TV van ad campaign

26th May 2009 Print
Renault Vans A long-time sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival, Renault has now put itself firmly in the Director’s chair with the launch of a short film of its own.

Entitled ‘Le Laitier’ (The Milkman), the time-warp film becomes Renault’s first-ever ‘movie’ van advertisement campaign in the UK. Initially shown online as a one-minute execution on www.renaultvans.co.uk, the ad will air later in 2009 on UK television screens as part of the French brand’s pre-launch awareness campaign for its eagerly-awaited large van range, New Master.

The ad, created by Publicis, with the end, ‘Renault Vans. Dependable since 1901.’, features a pristine Renault van from the early 1900s being driven very much at its own pace around the ‘Peripherique’ and through the traffic-clogged streets of Paris en route for a service at a Renault van centre. Watching the driver and his beloved workhorse weave their way gently through the French capital with their precious cargo, set to a nostalgic soundtrack and with more than a hint of humour, a whole new legion of Renault fans will be captivated by the charming ad.

‘The Milkman’ is available to view now at renaultvans.co.uk
