Podium joy for Hamblin at Langrish The fourth round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship was held at Langrish in Hampshire at the weekend, where all three Suzuki teams enjoyed a turbulent day of racing.

With the track in perfect condition, qualifying panned out well, leaving Fork Rent Suzuki rider Jason Dougan in pole position, with Team Suzuki Swift rider Sean Hamblin sitting in third spot.

Race one saw a confident start from American Hamblin, charging from the line and up to second spot early on. Despite a hard push from the trailing riders, Hamblin rode strongly staying ahead for the full 30-minute plus one lap race to cross the line behind Mike Brown in second spot.

With team-mate Elliott Banks Browne looking to improve on his recent British championship progress, the team young-gun did his crew proud by bringing his RM-Z250 home in fifth spot, while Dougan came home just behind in sixth.

Race two saw an improved start from Jason Dougan, leaving the first turn in fourth spot. A strong ride saw the local rider move up to an impressive second spot, before a lapse of concentration saw him crash out of contention. Hamblin rode hard once more, crossing the line to finish just off the podium in fourth, but taking an impressive third position overall on the day.

Suzuki GB marketing manager Paul de Lusignan commented, “Congratulations to Suzuki Swift and Team Fork Rent. It’s really encouraging to see our riders moving up the leader boards in the British Championship, while demonstrating the real potential of the RM-Z250”.
