Solid results for Dougan at Desertmartin

Following a good qualifying session that left Dougan fourth fastest, the RM-Z250 rider left the gate in race one with plenty of work to do. Fighting back from 16th position on lap-one, Jason moved through the pack on the shortened circuit, passing riders in every corner including Carl Nunn in the final stages to cross the line just off the podium in fourth place.
Another difficult start in the second race of the day left Dougan with yet more work to do. Blistering pace yet again, saw Jason ride a strong race, battling with Mike Brown in the final stages, before missing a gear and settling for sixth position at the flag.
Commenting on his weekend, Dougan said “My speed was good today, but I made things difficult by not getting the gates. Everything is moving forward and I’m looking forward to Sweden this weekend”.
With team mate Jake Nicholls suffering similar qualifying woes and a crash in race two, the young rider battled home to 12th and 14th place finishes, while fellow Suzuki rider Elliott Banks Browne brought his Team Suzuki Swift machine home to ninth and 11th place finishes.
Commenting on his team, Fork Rent Suzuki Manager, Mark Chamberlain said, “I’m pleased with the weekend overall. Both Jason and Jake made bad starts due to a decision of mine on set-up, yet they both battled hard. I cannot fault their effort, which we will continue support and push until the end of the season”.
