Gregory takes final Masters win Relentless Suzuki rider Lewis Gregory ended his 2007 season in fine style at the weekend, taking a race win at the final round of the British Masters Championship held at Foxhills, near Swindon, to finish the series as runner-up.

Missing a round of the championship earlier in the year due to commitments in the European MX2 Championship, Lewis was looking for strong rides this weekend to claim the runner-up spot, doing so in race one, by finishing on the podium in third spot.

Determined to end his season on a high, the RM-Z250 rider went into the final race of the year in strong form, riding hard against rival Shaun Springer. A race-long battle saw the pair swap places many times, before a final pass by Lewis on the last lap saw the Relentless Suzuki rider claim the win.

Talking after his win, Lewis commented, “I’m really happy to finish my season this way. It’s not been easy, but when I look back there are many things to be proud of, and this is one of them. It’s easy to think what may have been, but we came away with a European win this year, which was a great confidence boost, even if it did sacrifice a potential Masters crown”.

Continuing his preparation for next season, team-mate Jamie Law rode in the Pro-open class on the RM-Z450. Despite getting tangled in a crash with Brad Anderson, Jamie brought the 450 home in seventh overall.
