Championship win for youth Relentless rider

Suzuki The final round of the British Masters championship was held at the weekend at the famous Foxhills circuit near Swindon, Wiltshire. Coming into the final round holding an 80 plus point advantage over second place Rickie Roderick, Suzuki Youth Relentless team rider James Dunn was looking to clinch the race win and the title in the small wheel 85cc class.

The track could not have been in better conditions for the riders, and with the rain holding off, the racing on Saturday was fast and furious. On his Suzuki RM85 James came away with a second and third but was still under no threat due to the points gap from the second placed man Roderick. A riders' meeting took place on the Sunday following heavy rain, and a decision was taken that the small wheel riders could not compete because the track was considered too dangerous.

This confirmed James Dunn as the champion, and a presentation for the overall podium finishers is to be held at the Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh Park in November.

Youth Relentless Team manager Paul Butler commented, “We are extremely pleased with the performance from James over the course of the year and especially coming back so strong after a collar bone injury. It’s a great achievement, and we look forward to his new challenges next year.”

James still has one round left in the Elite Youth Cup, which will be on 18/19 October at Canada Heights, Swanley, Kent. He will then be looking to defend his 85cc British Supercross crown on 25th October at the Sheffield arena.
