Dunn takes solid second in Supercross Championship

The final round of the British Supercross Championship was held at the O2 Arena in London at the weekend where Team Doodson Suzuki youth rider James Dunn would come away with a credible runner-up championship position.

Riding his Suzuki RM85 big wheel, Dunn was to come through the qualifying heat and claim first position ahead of his rival Ben Watson. It would however, be a different story in the race, as the gates dropped and Dunn was last into the first corner. With everything to play for, he had to fight hard to get to the front of the pack and with the track gnarly, passing other riders was to be a very precise operation.

With the crowd behind him, Dunn chased down Watson and followed closely behind him right up to the last lap. With a very close run through every turn and jump, Watson was to take the chequered flag and the championship, with Dunn following him across the line to take second position in the race and the championship.

Talking about the evening’s racing James commented, ‘Of course gating first would have been good, but the atmosphere however was electric and the crowd were amazing. I really enjoyed the race and despite missing out on the title, I feel ready for the open season start in March.”
