Nunn takes first outdoor win of the season

Suzuki MVR-D Suzuki rider, Carl Nunn, took his first outdoor win of the season at the weekend, as he and the team took part in the ACU British MMX Championship, held at Little Silver near Exeter in Devon.

Fresh from taking the British Supercross Championship title just a few weeks earlier, Nunn went into the first round of the series in strong form, dominating the restarted first race on his RM-Z450, setting a fastest lap that was two seconds clear of his nearest rivals, to take the win.

Race two would not run quite so smoothly after a crash with Sword at the start, left Nunn to fight back through nearly the entire field, but still crossed the line in fifth place to take third overall on the day.

In the Under 21 category, Mattis Karro was on the pace, setting the third fastest time in qualifying. Sadly a technical gremlin saw Karro out of the first race, but back stronger in race two to finish in second place behind Jake Nicholls.

In the ACU British Ladies Championship it was normal service for MVR-D's Natalie Kane. Another clean sweep saw the Suzuki rider dominate the class yet again, with a fastest lap in both races that was over 10 seconds faster than her nearest rivals. A pair of wins gave Natalie the overall on the day.

Talking about the weekend, team manager Mark Chamberlain commented, "Big congratulations to the team today. Carl's pace was impressive and without that incident in the second race, we could have left Devon in an even stronger position. Mattis had problems, but we overcame them by race two to show his real potential and of course Natalie dominated her class yet again. It's been a great way to begin our UK racing season, and I'm confident this can be the trend for the rest of the year."
