Strong performances for MVR-D Suzuki at Hawkstone

Nunn on-way to fifth place in MX1 The MVR-D Suzuki team showed their true international potential at the weekend, as Carl Nunn and Mattis Karro both managed to finish inside the top five in the MX1 and MX2 classes of the now famous Hawkstone International event.

In the MX1 class, Nunn overcame early problems in qualifying and the first race where he finished in sixteenth, despite crashing and having to return to the pits, to finish race two on his RM-Z450 in a very impressive fifth place, only behind regular World MX1 contenders. Teammate James Noble suffered similar issues, but less eventual celebration after suffering crashes which would ultimately see him retire.

With Mattis Karro flying the flag for MVR-D in MX2, the young Latvian rode to two impressive finishes. Up to third place in race one, before suffering arm pump, Karro would still cross the line in a strong eighth place. Pacing himself in the second race, Karro managed a solid ride, moving up the field to take fifth place at the flag.

Talking about his rider's performances, team manager Mark Chamberlain commented, "I'm pretty happy with how today has gone. Carl's first race position really doesn't demonstrate how well and determined he rode. Of course by race two he put this behind him and showed us all the real potential. James on the other hand just suffered a torrent of bad luck today, whereas Mattis rode extremely well and without that arm pump, could have gone for an even better overall result. We're all now looking towards Canada Heights next weekend."
