Tough start to British Championship for Relentless Suzuki MX

With team rider Scott Probert, unable to start the first round of the series due to injury, New Zealander Scott Columb flew over to join the team, fresh from taking the Supercross title back at home with Suzuki. Riding Probert's RM-Z450, Columb didn't ride the bike until practice on Sunday morning, but still went on to finish both races solidly in 11th and 12th.
Fellow MX1 rider, Jamie Law, was keen to forget the weekend, after a heavy crash in the first race, left him battered for the second, seeing him eventually retire.
In MX2, Martin Barr was looking to put his recent injury woes behind him also, but had to wait until the second race to mix it up with the front-runners, after suffering a heavy crash in race one. Race two would see Barr back at the sharp-end, battling it out to finish in a solid fifth place.
Relentless Suzuki MX team manager Rob Hooper commented, "It's been a tough start to the season, but Martin demonstrated his true ability in the second race today. Scott Columb will be with us for the next few rounds and I'm confident that we'll see Jamie back on the pace at Langrish too."
