Burrows takes first Relentless win of year

With New Zealander, Scott Columb, filling-in for the injured Scott Probert, and Jamie Law and Martin Barr sitting-out to rest old injuries, it was down to Columb and youth rider Matt Burrows to fly the flag for the team.
Due to the format of the series, Burrows would ride both Saturday and Sunday, and started strongly on Saturday in the first race, holding a great second spot before a technical gremlin forced the RM-Z250 rider to retire. With the problem quickly rectified, Matt's RM-Z would not miss a beat for the rest of the weekend, proving his and the bike's potential with a second place finish on Saturday, before going on to take two great wins on Sunday, to end the day fourth overall and stay in the hunt for the MXY2 title.
With Columb the only representative for the team in the Pro Class, the New Zealander would start the weekend in a promising sixth place, despite cramp in his arms. A bad start in race two, still saw Columb ride to a solid fourth place, setting some impressive lap times and finishing the weekend fourth overall in the MX1 Pro class.
Team manager, Rob Hooper, commented, "It was a great pity and injustice for Matt to suffer such a silly technical gremlin in his first race, but he showed his tenacity and real potential by putting the problem behind him, to take two great wins. Scott improved over last week's performance and with another week on the bike he should be a front-runner at Langrish next weekend."
