Strong BSMA ride from Suzuki Youth team
Round one of the BSMA championship took place at the weekend, at Wildtracks Offroad Activity Park near Newmarket, with Team Doodson Suzuki Youth riders James Dunn, Rickie Roderick and Warren Field out in force. With the sand track prepared for the weekend’s racing, the Big Wheel 85 class was highly competitive with both Dunn and Roderick inside the top five overall. With Dunn having some close-run battles on the Saturday, he was able to cross the line in second, third and take a win. Sunday was to see him fight hard and a four way battle forming comfortably taking third and fourth, leaving Dunn in a good third position overall with him going into the next round.
Roderick on his RM85 showed that consistent riding earns a good overall position. Battling to eighth and sixth positions over the weekend left him two points clear of his closest rival Charley Mills, with a fifth overall.
Competing in the AMX group on his RM-Z250 Field, was to also have a great day, with four top five finishes and some great battles he came away with a second overall on the day.
The teams next event will be the BYMX round one at Mildenhall next weekend 28/29 March.
