Noble leaves Bulgaria as top Brit
MVR-D Suzuki rider, James Noble, left the second round of the World Motocross Championship, held at Sevlievo in Bulgaria at the weekend, as the highest placed Brit in the championship, after a pair of solid rides gave the Suzuki rider 12th overall on the day.Following a good gate, Noble started the first race of the day outside of the top-ten, fighting to a very credible 14th place at the flag. Come race-two, the RM-Z450 rider was determined to continue his encouraging pace, fighting through the pack early-on to finish one place better in 13th, giving him 12th overall on the day.
In MX2, team rider Mattis Karro would not enjoy the same highs, after a crash in race one damaged his shoulder, and a subsequent crash in race two would force the the young Latvian to retire.
In the first round of the Women's World Motocross Championship, MVR-D sensation, Natalie Kane showed her potential, running as high as second place in the first race of the day, before a crash on a slow corner saw her left to remount in 13th, riding back to sixth place at the flag. Race two was looking promising too, before a challenge for third place with Fiolek left her effectively restarting her race again, riding to 9th place and taking 7th in the series standings.
Back at home, Carl Nunn flew the MVR-D flag in the MMX British Open Championship at Mildenhall, with Nunn taking a comfortable second place in race two, after rock damage to his clutch ended race one prematurely. With teammate James Cottrell back from injury, he would join Nunn at Mildenhall, using the round to build his fitness over race distance.
Team manager Mark Chamberlain was upbeat about the team's performance, commenting, "I'm really proud of the performance of the guys in Bulgaria. Mattis just had one of those unlucky weekends, whereas James rode extremely well and posted results that we can all be proud of. The very same can be said for Natalie, who tried hard, but had to overcome her share of bad luck too. Back at home, Carl suffered, but still rode to a comfortable runner-up spot, with James using the round to get back to full fitness."
