A brace of top tens for Doodson Suzuki

27th April 2009 Print
James Dunn Team Doodson Suzuki Youth riders were out in action at various race meetings across the country over the weekend, competing in the second round of the British Youth Motocross Championship and the first round of the AMCA championship.

Riding his big wheeled Suzuki RM85, James Dunn was to compete in the second round of the BYMX, north of the border at Leuchars. Taking a sixth place finish overall, the weekend of riding in the hard, sandy conditions would see Dunn leave with his championship hopes still alive, lying in a comfortable third spot.

Riding at the first AMCA round at Culham, Oxfordshire, would be Tim Truman in the MX1 class on his RM-Z450, and Scott Mathia in the MX2 class on his RM-Z250. Both riders would see average qualifying positions at the start of the weekend but would both improve throughout, having some great race battles to both come away top ten in the overall positions, with Truman tenth overall and Mathia in ninth.

Team manager Paul Butler commented on his team’s performance, “I am really pleased with everybody’s efforts from this weekend, we know what areas need to be worked on to go forward and carry on being competitive in the various championships, but overall it's been another encouraging weekend."

The next meeting will be round two of the AMCA championship at Bevercotes.
