Reynolds swaps wheels for wings

Three times British Superbike Champion, John Reynolds, swapped two wheels for wings earlier this week as the Suzuki rider went wing walking during the 2009 Isle of Man TT races.

Reynolds, a keen pilot himself, jumped at the opportunity to try wing walking with the Guinot Aerobatic Team, as they visited the Isle of Man to put on two displays during TT race week.

Wearing full race leathers and his crash helmet, the Nottingham based racing legend spent over 20 minutes in the air above the Island on the wing of the 1940's biplane.

"I have to say I was a little apprehensive before the flight", commented Reynolds. "Although I'm very comfortable and used to being in a plane, standing on a wing is an entirely different thing, but once we were in flight I absolutely loved it. The wind pressure was the biggest challenge, particularly wearing my helmet, but having done it now, I have huge respect for what the girls do during a display."

Reynolds, who now works as Suzuki GB's race director was on the Island to support the Relentless Suzuki by TAS team who have been competing in the legendary Isle of Man races with Bruce Anstey and Cameron Donald with the Suzuki GSX-R600 and 1000 race machines.
