Maiden victory for Dunn on RM125

Having only ridden the 125 for a set up session the week before, this would be the first competitive outing for the Swindon based rider. For qualifying the expert and junior riders were grouped together with 80 competitors trying to qualify; Dunn claimed fourth. In his group Dunn went on to win the first two main races, and with a bad start in the third, saw him claim seventh. Taking the first couple of wins ensured Dunn would take the overall victory for the day across both classes and the overall win in the junior class too.
Competing in round four of the AMCA championships were Scott Mathia and Tim Truman on their RM-Z250 and 450 machines. Riding at the Druids track in Kerry, Mathia riding his RM-Z250 would claim a further position in the championship standings moving up to fifth, while Truman edges closer to sixth but stays in seventh.
Paul Butler, team manager commented, “Having been at the Whitby circuit only a few weeks ago, it seemed a prime opportunity to have James try out the 125, and we are naturally very pleased with his results. Equally, the results from Tim and Scott are encouraging too.”
